We met dancing and laughing at a bluegrass concert in the mountains of Koke'e State Park here on Kaua'i. It was a cold and starry night full of friends and fun, and we were happy to meet another kindred spirit from the north shore. A couple of months later, we saw each other at the Saturday farmer's market. After hitting it off again in conversation, Nathan said he had an extra ticket to a reggae concert that night, and asked me to join him. I wasn't sure if it was a date, until we were together and the chemistry was undeniable. It didn't take long until we were quite obsessed with each other. Soon after, we travelled to Bali, Indonesia, and on that trip our love grew and deepened. Everywhere we went, people thought we were on our honeymoon and we just laughed and went along with it. The more we joked about it, the more we realized that we were also imagining a future together- imagining forever together. We returned from the trip immersed in the truest love we have ever known and repeating to each other, "when you know, you know."
